The Cachini Dance Group is, under the leadership of Terrence Cachini and Melissa Vicenti. We are from Pueblo of Zuni. The group started in 2012 we have been to different social events whereby we showcased our traditional talents. We are family oriented dance group we love to shares our traditional, social, and cultural entertainment with the general public. We are blessed to get every opportunity we may come across to share social cultural entertainment, we love dancing to the beat of the drum, we move in choreographed steps. I grew up with my grandparents, where they taught me right from wrong and taught me how to make my own traditional outfits and songs. The first time I was asked to see if I can put up a dance group to perform at a softball game for my in-laws I was so happy I just asked my family members and from there they really liked dancing and we have been a group since then.

Cachini Dance Group is also unique in that we are all related through blood ties: Terrence is the uncle to Janice Cachini and Fredric Cachini Jr. and Camron Edaakie, Brandon is son of Terrence and Melissa, Melissa is an aunt to, Tashia Chimoni, Kenrick Lalio, and Ethan Halusewa.

The Cachini dance group dances different dances:

  • Corn dance
  • Warrior dance
  • Turkey dance
  • Deer dance
  • Rainbow dance
